What a beautiful flower. I take it its the same one that was the close up the other day? Stunning colours. I was wanting to see what the whole flower looked like!

Zoe, yes it is the same flower, i had no extension tubes on for this shot.

(the tubes give extreme close up capability without buying a new lens.

Great shot of the flower, love the colours and it's nice and sharp. The flower stands out even more against the black background.

Just had a go but think i am doing all wrong.

Whats wrong with that!!! done a better job than i could ever do...

its probably on here somewhere but a tutorial wouldnt go a miss on something like this, Calling all you abstract, photoshopy clever buggers!!!!!!but if your going to go all layers and masks etc etc, thats me stuffed before i start

..i quite liked the blue background come to mention it.

Hi Dennis; Might just be me but I prefer a lighter BG;I think on black the centre of the flower doesn't stand out as much yet the yellows do.
All the same nice image with good detail and composition.
