HDR-how is it done

I've been looking at the HDR gallery, those are amazing effects-how are they done? I have Photoshop, any hints would be appreciated as I have some photos that I'd like to try this on.

HI Ken, the other way is to take 'a few' pictures on location, depending upon the scene, say 5 or 6 images each half a stop apart and then use Photoshops Merge to HDR feature (File > Automate > Merge to HDR) or other blending mode in Photoshop. This image was / is being created by a combination of methods.

Thats a cracking image, Alistair - where abouts in North Yorkshire is it?

Not really played with Photoshops HDR feature properly, so will have a play too - thanks for the advice mate

Thought I recognised the view, Alistair - know it well. I used to deliver around the Richmond area until they changed my route. And its not too far from where I live and the future in-laws live.
