Keep the mother of the bride on your side from the start, to prevent her from trying to take over. Watch for handbags in group shots, if all ladies have them ok, but if only a few, then lose them completely as it looks out of place. Try to avoid the confetti throwing too early after the ceremony as this will show up in every image. Have a laugh, keep it light hearted and enjoy yourself. When doing large group shots, I carry an old police whistle and when the time is right give a sharp blow as this then attracts the attention of all towards the camera. A slightly overcast day is better than a hot sunny day photograpically, but if the sun is against you then don't forget fill in and try to carry a reflector.

Steve, first off mate, calm down...
remember, everyone expects you to be in charge so BE IN CHARGE!!!
if it helps, write down the list of shots you need to do. your first (and many after!) you will forget stuff.
ie
B&G
B&G & parents x3
B&G & Bmds
B&G & Bmds & Ushers
all the hens with the Bride
All the stags with the Groom
G
G & Bm (& then UShers)
grooms family
brides family
everyone
friends
you get the picture...
always maintain voice control with your party. dont shout but be loud enough to let everyone know your instructions.
keep the vicar (if you have one) on your side.
When at the reception, keep in touch with the person in charge of the food/room etc
the ushers are there to do a job, make them find people for your next shot.
detail shots are great, lots of the room while everyone has a drink and nibbles etc.
dont use a tripod unless you really need to. it will slow you down beyond belief unless you have an assistant.dont be afraid to stop taking pictures to move people out of the background. trust me, dont leave it for P'shop work!
this may all sound heavy duty but if you stick to a plan that can be adapted to anything that suddenly changes things you will be fine. keep some water on you and try to eat plenty before you go out.
to be honest, quite jealous now...

Andy mentioned detail shots and don't forget to include some close ups of the dress. My missus just reminded me of that one.
One more thing. When you get paid...send me half the money or I will post the pictures of you, the welly boots and that sheep with the squint !
