Default Help! 430ex in studio?

I am planning to buy some studio flash heads, Is it possible to use my 430ex as an extra light? maybe as a background/hair light.
How do I make it fire in sync with my other lights without being wired to the camera?
thanks,
Dave

Just buy something along the lines of a pocket wizard, or optical sensor with a hotshoe adapter.
You will have to use the speedlight on manual.

In addition to what Merv said. The recylce rate will not be as fast as the studio lights mate. It can be done though. I bought some mini slaves for my metz guns before buying the extra bowens.
