iphoto book printing?
Has any one used the iphoto book or calender printing services? I'd be interested to hear how you found them or alternative services.

I too would be interested in hearing what anyone has to say about these as I have only used Photobox books so far, which are great for colour images but the monochrome does not print as well as their photos do.

I've had a couple of calendars printed, one via Kodak and one via Snapfish (linked to Jessops) with Snapfish, you can design the layout of the page, title each photo and even insert photos to specific days, eg for birthdays etc. Snapfish can also deliver via a Jessops centre saving on carriage costs. The Kodak calendar options are similar, but slightly more limited and you also have to pay carriage. Hope the above is of some use.

I've had a couple of photobooks printed with photobox and for the price I was quite impressed with the results. My only complaint is that you don't get many layout options so you are quite limited, for me anyway.
I had an email today about the iPhoto books but not used them. I think a colleague has though so I'll track him down and get some feedback for you.

Thanks to you all, did you have to follow a template, or could you do a page layout in PS? Although I guess this could get complicated to print one picture across two pages.

Hi Alistair,
Have you had a look at Blurb. Make your own book with Blurb
The guys at outback photo seem to like it, they have some comments there Outback Photo cover page
Also I think John Arnold had some made for a wedding he shot.
I'd try it myself except that they don't deliver here and their software does not run on Linux. You need their software to upload.
Cheers Rex

Based on the options you entered, your book would cost as follows:
Printing Cost Per Book (Includes 30 Color Pages): $6.48
Additional Cover Cost Per Book: $0.00
Additional Binding Cost Per Book : $0.00
Additional Paper Cost Per Book: $0.60
Total Cost Per Book: $7.08
Total For 25 Books (Plus sales tax and shipping*): $177.00
If you wish to print inside the front and/or back cover,
there is an additional charge of $0.10 per book.
Because the price was per book not for 25 books?
