Packing for a trip
Ok ... budget's no object but airline carry on restrictions are in place and who would put anything of value in the hold.
What would you pack for a trip of landscape / general photography, not involving any wild life? As a life line, there are two of you traveling so your companion can take some of the load in their carry on, oh and ignore the weight aspect, after all who has even had a carry on weighed? Finally the tripod can be packed for the hold.

No wildlife? That makes life easier! Went to Malaysia not too long ago, and used an old Lowepro Nova 5 bag, plenty of room for camera(with battery grip), 10 - 20, 17 - 85 and a small 70 - 300, plus flash gun, batteries, cards etc Useful pocket in the top flap to put passport/tickets in so you didn't have to open the main bag.
Battery chargers went into the hold luggage, as did the tripod and filters. I gave my son the lap top to carry as his cabin luggage.

Easy I have a cheapo Adorama backpack that can hold my laptop and camera and I can also throw in some other stuff. Not the best construction, but sub $100 and even has a raincoat for the bag. Sometimes a real life saver.

You're in trouble if your luggage is lost!
Suvendra, I'm more interested in the contents rather than the bag

Well, it carries mostly everything I can take:
A laptop with 1 portable hard drive, 1 Rebel XT body with battery pack, 50 prime, 60 prime, 12-24 wide, 70-200 zoom with 1.4x lens extender, 75-300 paper-weight zoom (never really remember to take this out of the bag!), kit lens, my filter kit (approx 10 filters with variety of step up rings), battery charger, cables, 4x2 GB cf cards, remotes, camera manual, Kodak p&s, a few change of shirts etc - I guess whatever I can accomodate. And my Manfrotto goes in the hold.
And from hotel - depending on location I may just take 2 filters, camera body, 60 prime and 12-24 or 70-200 in my smaller Tamrac shoulder bag and travel around.

Good idea to take the manual, that's one I always forget, perhaps a good idea to download it on to the laptop.
A couple of other things I include are zippies (plastic cable ties) for fixing things and freezer bags (the zip lock kind) for moving camera/lenses between hot and cold places to stop condensation.
Anyone got any tips for other helpful items to take?

No problems actually if you carry it "inside" your laptop or camera but I prefer traveling by car anyway (no restriction on highways)
