Default Buying camera online

hello guys i've recently moved to england but the cameras here are really expansive.
do you guys know any online store which you buy from before ?
i wanted to buy a 50D with 17-85 kitset

i used pricerunner as a reference, some are relatively cheap but i wasn't sure which one to buy from

Any suggestion guys ?

Hi I feel its more about ensuring should you have any issues you have people who can be contacted for technical advice and maybe the potential return of what is an expensive investment. So there are plenty of websites which may offer cheap kit on e-bay e.t.c but you have no Plan B should it go wrong.

So either find a small independent camera company locally to yourself or buy from a reputable company on-line who can give you comfort with your purchase.

I tend to use these Guys Warehouse Express - Digital Camera, Digital SLR Cameras, Lens, Canon, Nikon They are maybe slightly more expensive but i have to return stuff, they collect at their expense and use a courier who brings a replacement item if applicable i would recommend them.

For smaller purchases say batteries and stuff i would tend to roam about more and use other suppliers. (Amazon e.t.c)

Beware a lot of bogus sites have been operating who take your money and run, the prices are just about cheapest and the sites credible. I got ripped off on a £600 surround system and i am still fighting to get my money returned.

I shop on-line all the time and buy almost everything this way, its about being sure its a reputable company in the first place. I have spent a LOT of money with warehouse express and never had one issue they would be on my 10/10 list for service and supply and they use registered couriers and you can track parcels e.t.c. When parting with hundreds of pounds you need to be sure. One other point i am sure credit card transactions are covered by a guarantee but not debit cards so i buy with credit cards then pay bill with my debit card for extra reassurance.

Thanks for that, however all the point made so far have to stand reference ensuring you dont a) get substandard or grey imports b) Get ripped off online c) have no recourse or help if an expensive product goes wrong d) you have protection by using the right card

For cameras and lens I always pay a bit more and buy from my local camera shop, they will match Warehouse Express prices and I get it in my hands as I hand the money over. But battery's and Memory cards I buy on-line.

Prices on camera price buster always seem to come from reputable dealers. I have found loads of too good to be true deals through google shopping so I don't trust it until it throws up a shop I recognise.
