Tripod????? hahaha.....sorry to laugh but you'll hardly have room to breathe!
As the Oasis is a largish venue presume that cameras are NOT allowed; so don't be surprised if they do a bag search. If I'm going to a new venue I take mine in a satchel with sweaty 5-a-side gear on top so as not to arouse suspicion. 75% of the crowd will have camera phones or mini cameras - it's the bigguns that the authorities don't like - they presume you will be selling on the finished product (as if?)
Get as close to the middle of the front of the crowd as possible (less chance of the bouncers getting you!) and have the camera set as fast and open as possible. If you are more than 1/3 the way back you'll probably just get lots of brightly coloured pics with no details in apart from the back of some blokes heed.
Sadly the only secret is to auto-focus and click away 'hoping' for a couple of in-focus shots....regardless of what other 'experts' might tell you
You will have to hand hold and probably won't have much time to fiddle with your settings (thank God for Photoshop). If you can focus on anything at all it'll be her mic stand. You won't be able to second guess the lighting guy; but I'd expect lots of bright spots on her as she's kinda pretty!
I take most of my pics at 4 smallish local venues and know the promoters so if they are using the Sage or Acadamy I'm allowed access at the front with my big AAA sticker on my chest!

If I get 5 or 6 printable/publishable photos out of 200 shots I'm a happy man.
A lot of that sounds negative; but please don't let any of that to put you off enjoying the gig; my son has seen Lily 3 or 4 times and says its a great show.

I'd be expecting some very contrasty light, usually have to ignore blown out areas if you want any detail at all in pretty much anything.
As it's quite a big star you can probably expect them to use enough lighting gear to make things a little easier, I've been invited to shoot gigs and ended up 20 feet underground with little more than candle light to shoot in!
The norm is to shoot wide open at high ISO and take what shutter speed you get, don't worry about noise, nobody else does.

A lot of venues don't allow cameras with removable lenses, it's the easiest way to ban SLR's and usually stated on the back of the ticket. I think the reason is to stop people turning up with 600mm f/4's and getting in other peoples way.

Thanks everyone, but we had an email back from the council (Paul my hubby emailed to ask about taking camera's) and they said no "professional" camera's basically anything thats more than a film camera aren't allowed but normal cameras and mobiles are fine, and hubby reckons if I take my camera and they do a bag search and find it, and take it off me its just gonna be hassle so I prob won't take my camera now but thank you for all the great advice anyways.

A friend of mine is supposed to be coming over today with her baby and wants me to take some shots of the baby so we'll see how that goes lol

At least once during the gig you will regret not taking your camera; but not 'worrying' all night will help you enjoy it a lot more.
Get a 'feel' for the surroundings and think about taking a (smaller) camera the next time you go there.

PS. Did you know that Noel Gallagher named his new band after a gig, that he was guitar tech for the Insipid Carpets, at the Oasis Centre? (they weren't called Centre!)
