Default Ideal Photographic Equipment.

So a family member or friend wins the lottery and says to you "I'll buy you any one item for your photography".

With the exception of it being a new camera (am sure pretty much all of us would like the best camera our chosen manufacturer makes Lol) what would you go for???

Mine would have to be a Sigma 120mm-300mm 2.8

http://www.warehouseexpress.com/prod...px?sku=1009946

I have been saving up for a Sig 70mm-200mm 2.8 to compliment my 24mm-70mm 2.8 but these have come out recently and i would LUUUUUUUURVE one...

Good choice mate, seen some very nice results from that.
But for me it's the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR, am I allowed the 2x TC as well? LOL.
Obviously the 600/4 would be nice but I think the 300/2.8 would be more versatile.

mmmmmmmmmmm A full on movie cam, industry standard. I would love to play with that kind of thing. Er....and of course Kiera Knightly ( who I totally love! oh sheesh..oh sheesh!) to pose and frolic around in front of my ...ahem...Big lens

Well, I already have the 120-300mm and it is indeed a nice lens. To get anything substantially better at 300mm or above you're talking really silly money.

Which is why my wish list item would be a Canon EF 600mm f4 L - I can dream.

cheers

Daniel

As I love my Nikon 300 f4, the 2.8 version would be just great.

Great telephoto range but a bit slow at f/5.6, wouldn't a nice 200-500mm f/2.8 be better? You can get one of those for the bargain price of £19399.00 on Warehouse Express and if you really need > 500mm it comes with a 2* Teleconverter to give you 400-1000mm @ f/5.6.

Of course, at nearly 16kg you'd need to factor in the cost of a Sherpa to carry it around for you.

Now that really is over the top

cheers

Daniel

It would be a lot cheaper to walk a bit closer to your subject.
