The nature of my work dicates me shooting in RAW. Oddly I saw another wedding photographer last weekend shooting in jpeg still. Sharpening is always the last step in my editing workflow, so for me at least it is all left for the post work and not in cam. You have more control if/when sharpening out of cam. You can always create a droplet if you wanted to batch sharpen. We had quite a discussion (the other wedding chap) about the advantages and situations for RAw/jpeg use. If the couple require a slideshow at the actual event, then I will put two cards in the cam and shoot RAW and Jpeg simultaneously. Good point.

I agree with shooting Raw if I do any wedding work, the S5 allows me to recrd a finequality jpeg and RAw file simultaniously but it really does slow things down to a point where if I am doing reportage / candid shots I switch back to jpg fine.
A dual card slot does seem a useful thing to have. |

Interesting one.
I only shoot raw but that's because as a beginner it gives me room to make mistakes. I suppose it also depends on where your work will end up, having to produce different sizes for say printing and maybe your web page will need sharpening at different times and amounts, so raw would give you more flexibility to do that. |

I shoot both Jpeg and RAW, But with jpeg - I have turned the in-camera sharpening off and only sharpen a image as the final step in Photoshop.

I shoot raw, minimal sharpening and processing in Lightroom 2 then when you output to jpeg you can choose sharpen for screen or sharpen for printing. Its always the last thing i do as others say.
