Default Choosing and Buying Photo Mounts

I was talking to Tco earlier and he told me that putting a printed photo into a mount is a much better way of presenting it.
I do get confused over the size though, is the size quoted the overall size or the size of the 'hole'?

Also if anybody has any links to mount suppliers that would be handy

I get my mounts from Ebay user: friargate*frames - Last week I purchased fifteen 16 x 12" ivory mounts and backing boards for £19.00 delivered which I think is fairly reasonable - they seem decent quality as well. The sizes Ive been quoted relate to the overall size of the mount. These mounts fit A4 prints.

Cool thanks mate.
Can you post a link to the eBay shop? For the more lazy members, such as myself?

I have always cut my own mounts. As you can then make the mount fit your particular image, I use a Logan 301s mountcutter which is very easy to use and after I have used up all of my current stock of mountboard, I will be ordering from Britannia Mounts as their mountboard is only £2.12 plus VAT for a 32in x 44in board. Delivery is £30 for orders under £200, otherwise it is free. So you do need to do a reasonable order to make it worthwhile, luckily there are quite a few of us in the camera club to make up a big order.

But I used to use a shop in Hereford called 'Paperway' there maybe a branch near you (just type it into Google ) they use to charge £22.50 for 10 A1 mountboards.
