Hello Hippy-Di ...

I personally don't have a problem with that and believe it to be fair....then again I haven't sold anything yet lol..
So long as You are happy ... and in Your case Diane, I see that Water Colours are also acceptable, so this at least gives You a chance to showcase and perhaps sell Your Photos and other Art Works ... nobody even steals mine

Thanks for the advice guys & gals. On reflection I don't think redbubble is worth the effort.
Andy.

I know very little about Redbubbble, and I guess Dianne has explained it the best.
But the problem that I see is this.

Firstly, the selling a couple of Poscards here, and an odd Teashirt or Teatowel later on
is realistically not going to be of much benifit.......really
(And a big difference to the price that my friend sells his stuff for.)

And secondly...... when and if you decide to pull out, they still have a copy of your photos uncondensed.
So......even if you ask for your work back.........it'll probably only be a copy anyway.
And what if they decide to use it.........then what?
Firsty what are the chances of you ever seeing it?
And if you do.........then what?
Your solicitor will have to write them a letter asking for it's removal.
So your photo of Mt St. Clement will be removed and they will simply replace it someone elses photo of Mt Clair........for them no difference.

Well that's my view, you may think it a little harsh, but that's the real world out there.
Everyone steals computer programmes and they think that thats OK.......it's just the same.

Cheers,
Joseph.

Well young Fella ... I respect Your view ... and totally agree with it. Since You have been in the Industry for ever ... especially on the Print side, I believe You make a lot of sense.

Yep ... and if You are Banned from a Site and upset the Owners, try and get Your Images back then. The last Owner (pokes out tongue) that I upset had to be "publicly called a thief" before He would remove My Image from His Site ... which, incidentally, He had Linked to a Bible selling Site. Also, My Site Signature, was re-directed to this Owners Site after I was Banned.
I am sure some will know the Site ... partly closed now ... even though the sympathy *vote* went His way.
Bah! It is all about Money.
Advice: Be very wary of Posting large Files anywhere on the Net.
Ta ta for now ... *waves to joseph*

Tedz.....Firstly let me say this.

I missed the explosion as I had business troubles of my own at the time, and only found out about it as the dust was clearing. And then had a little trouble trying to follow what had happened.

Tedz I'm really sorry.....the way you were treated was absolutely disgusting. But thats all in the passed now and it's probably best we just to turn the page.

But back to REDBUBBLE

I just feel that a lot of people will get disappointed with it and will then find themselves being used, after all no one knows how many sites the owner or owers have out there?

* Salute*
Joseph.

Hi Folks

Just my thoughts on Redbubble after several months use; lots of nice people who are very interested in your photos and make kind comments. Seems to sell T shirts over photos and the sheer number of images being uploaded everyday make it difficult for the public to buy because there is just so much choice. Also, if people get directed to Redbubble by a lead from your photography the public just get lost in the millions of photos there and you lose any potential sale.

I have just finished building my own site to act as a gallery which is now being ranked on Google and has online PayPal capability. Its still in its infancy but I wanted a site that could at least be found by search engines, offer a slide presentation and incorporate a card payment system - where the photographer got all the profit!

I am considering allowing other photographers use of my site with their own gallery for a fee, but this is just an idea at the moment.

I like Redbubble and the community feel, but sales are either pot luck or it seems to me very very slow. I know I need to become a better photographer and I am doing my best hopefully improving bit by bit. Cheers Will

I set up a redbubble account, then went and had a look, gave up and deleted my detail it seemed a bit arty biased to me. Anyway i set up my own website, just as a showcase and to have my own space at the mo, if i ever get good enough may upgrade to paypal and stuff!

I opened a Redbubble account and have only managed to sell a few cards so i have'nt uploaded anything for ages, i have my own website and have attached paypal facility to it and have been very pleased with the sales, so i think having a website of your own works better, well..i find for me it has anyway, im with Clikpic and although you have to pay a yearly fee so far my sales have covered that, as Will states there are thousands of images on these sale sites whereas having your own site maximises your chances of sales, but i have learnt that using the right "key words" to image descriptions is so important to draw people in to your websites.
