Today was the childrens gala in Dunfermline. This pipe band did us proud!

Good image to record the moment, with the large amount of people out to see this event. But the Pipers do seem to get a bit lost within the image, but to be honest I don't think that there is much you could have done about it. Although I hope that you took a few more close up images, especially that Piper leader from a low down position which would make him more dominate.

Hi Barry, the only way I could get this shot was to climb up a wall and shoot through railings! There were so many people, getting a more advantageous position was not possible, and this was the only shot I was able to get which didn't have odd heads or body parts included!

Been thinkin alot recently about my scottish heritage and thinking of signin up to genes reunited to trace further back..Was bought the Gordon Clan fridge magnet on last week so thats another thing that prompted me..Bydand

Andy, you should be aware all the best looking genes come from north of the border- so that part of your heritage is sorted! Unfortunately there is a lot of "dress up for the tourists" rather than true culture in many events in Scotland. I like this gala because it is all about the kids, their day out at the end of the school term and as you can see strongly supported by the community. Long may it continue!

I love the sound of scottish pipe music! Bet the atmosphere there was electric!?

One of my favourite authors at the moment is Iain Rankin, especially his "Rebus" storys.... they take you further into Scotland that, no mean to offend here, "native scottish folk" know more about than people like me further down... I would love to get up there and do some urban photography sort of thing.....

Have never been to Fife, so will def have to make an effort to get there
