Apocalypse Soon
Photographers Comments
Shot this morning on a local walk. Produced HDR from single RAW. Driving down to the start I heard the news about ever-rising fuel prices, shortages, OPEC demands... best get yourself a bike.

Hi Rob, I like this shot, the old truck is great and the sky excellent, I like the way that you have kept the track in view and a nice gap between front of truck and edge of image. A couple of things that I think could improve this image are, clown out tree on left hand side of image and remove that telegraph pole and lines.

I like it mate.
Crits? maybe a mono jobbie lobbed in there as well as the colour version but thats not really a crit more of a personal 'TCO is a weird mono loving bloke' thing.
I think the angle is good but agree with Barry about the pole.

I use Dynamic-Photo HDR. I find it best to avoid the high contrast option in the tone mapping as it produces that very lurid look. I go for 'eye-catching' or 'smooth compressor'. I think the secret with HDR is to get the tonal ranges from the exposures without the OTT effects that can make a shot look un-natural..

I use the same software, il have to try using smooth compressor as have'nt tried that yet.
Do you start with the original exposure at -0- and then do 2 at +1 & -1? or different exposures, always been a bit confused with this.
I agree with getting the tonal range right and not make the image look OTT but i still dont feel i get that HDR effect.
