Default Beware of wooden handles

Photographers Comments
Now that I have time to check out this site and see just how crazy some of you are, I decided to let you know how crazy I am. I was chopping ice in my driveway after an ice storm when the wooden handle on my shovel splintered. I guese the crazy part is I was lucky that my wife who is a nurse was not home so I was able to save myself a trip to the ER by pulling it out myself. This was not photoshoped. I know the background is not the best but I took it with my left hand and was in a hurry to get it out. ( so am I crazy enough for this site to fit in? )

Nice one Art,
would have cloned out the distracting stuff bottom right, the bloods running across your hand not down which looks strange and i would have liked more of it,also the light isn't very good but on the whole a nice attempt, maybe you can try this one again when the weather gets warmer LOL......

Hi Art,
nice little splinter there, luckily it did not effect your shutter finger. Maybe you should try a rubber handled shovel next time, but watch your head.

Just a second thought, was it the peice of wood sticking out of your hand which you tried to photograph, or the authentic American Indian hiding in the bushes behind?

I think I'm about to be ill.

Oh yeah, if you are looking the an authentice indian, I'll hide in your bushes. My sister has her status Mohawk papers. I've never bothered but I still have an affinity to feathers and beads

Hi Anne, to tell you the truth it hurt alot more coming out then it did going in. It went in alot faster then it came out.

Hi Merv, I hope you didn't mean that the picture was horribe. LOL I wasn't to concerned about composition on this one.

Hi Steve, The blood was running up because I had my hand down while I got my camera ready. As for more blood I'm sorry as it did not bleed nearly as much as I thought it would. Sorry to disapoint yo. LOL And no I do not plan on trying again. Once is enough.

Hi Dennis, Sorry to say on this shot I was not to concered about composition. LOL
