wood on worthing beach

Just though folks might like to see the state of our beach today, miles and miles of wood. Its going to take months to clear and apparently an offence to take it although I expect there will be a few new sheds put up over the next year!!

What about a new Pier?

As most people may know in the uk this is wood drifted in from a sunken cargo ship off the coast of Dorset, so travelled about 50 miles or so to get to Worthing in west Sussex, it stretches as far as the eye can see both directions. Apparently many years ago a similier situation happened with oranges, tons and tons washed up and there was a glut of marmalade and a shortage of jam jars!

Our local sussex radio station has had a phonein with suggestions and that is high on the list although not worthing pier but rebuilding West pier in Brighton which is derilict.
Someone said they could hear chain saws going all night on Sunday and the contractors had gone home so I wonder who that was?

i wondered when a shot of this would come up. since i cant get to it its nice to see one. i cant believe the poxy councils..crime to take it but they'll move it using my tax!!! just let everyone nick it and save thousands clearing it officially.. when i was young it was finders keepers...

So .. guess since this photo has been posted wonder how many families will have a weekend outing at the beaches .. sleep all day and fill in the back of the lorry .. at night ..lol .. I will never understand why council would not say to people .. come and get it ... bet it would be all cleared in about .. 3 weeks time ... and all of that wonderful lumber put to good use.
