Default [PP] PP Monochrome Infrared Flowers

Photographers Comments
This is my first attempt at PP, as the weather is terrible outdoors (wind and rain) so I went for a indoor project. This flower head is actually red/purple color, but as it was shot in Infrared it has come out as white. It was lit up using a remote flash from the left.

Nice one Barry, well lit and composed. I maybe would have liked to have seen the whole of the vase/jug down to the base, but that is only personal preference. Good start to your PP.

Hi Phil, I was having trouble with the background, I was using 2 pieces of mountboard, 1 at the back and 1 for the base, so when you see the whole vase you could also see the joint where the mountboards met. Plus I was having to use 400asa as I could not produce enough infrared light indoors so I was not happy with the grainy effect of the image.

I really love the contrast between the vase and the purity of the white flower. Really well done.
I agree about taking it with the full vase. You might want to try taking the shot anyway, and then editing out the line.
I love the effect you've created here...great job!

I really like this. The shape of the vase is Aladin's Lamp and the white flower is the Genii appearing from it! The bottom missing is not a problem for me. Well composed and taken.

Nice idea Barry. I think you did well with the lighting and like the way the flowers come out of the top, good arrangement. Well composed shot but there's a reflection on the jug to the left that's a little distracting
