Default NIA by night

This is a cross between Abstract and Architecture but thought I would get this part of the forum started lol

I took this the other night from the Metropol Hotel Birmingham.

Its the NIA. I did not have my tripod so rested it on a chair and had to adjust it in PS after.

Hope you like it C&Cs welcomed

Nik

Thanks. I lined the post up on the right of the image for the correct vertical as the lake sloped away to the left so making the horizon look out. This is how ever the way the lake runs from left to right. I may be wrong about the horizon but I would thing the large post on the right would be perpendicular to the correct horizon lol.

Nik,

Love the image, all I’d do is to straighten the horizon. Were you in tungsten WB?

Yes I see what you mean but I think if you look at the strutts to the left of the building you can see through them but the ones to the right you cant so i think the building was also running away from the lens.

Its a very strange building so I just went with the pole lol.

Nice capture, Nik. Got to agree about the horizon bit, but still well caught considering how you managed to get your camera stable.

I've had a little go too. Adjusted the horizon and then in Lightroom played around with various temp, balance and colour settings. Hope you don't mind, and hope it looks ok.

Again, great image

Hi Nik - great pic, and nice adjustments Mark. In both though, the thing that strikes me isn't the cool lighting, shadows and technique, but the great insect-like building striding across the landscape. That for me made the pic. Sorry that's not constructive, but what a wonderful abstract image.
Chris
