Thanks Barry, that looks a good price. Have you dealt with this firm before, are they ok?

I have not dealt with them before, but they have been going since 2002 so I can only presume that they are ok. Might be worth a phone call to them and see what they sound like over the phone - you can always ask them about this lens and if you feel happy with how they are talking then you can place a order, if you are not happy then you can always put the phone down. Otherwise use Warehouse Express, which lots of people use and are very helpful. I would have no problem using these people.

Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO Macro Super DG Lens - Nikon fit (508944) - Warehouse Express

Another thing to think about before buying any lens, is to buy the best that you can afford, after all it is the lens that gives you the quality of your final image not the camera.

I'm with Baz on the warehouse express thing..i have bought all my lenses and my latest camera from them, when you ring whoever you get they are really helpful and i've not spoken to one yet who does'nt know what they're talking about and next day delivery.....

As for the quality issue i had the nikon 18mm-70mm kit lens and now i have the sigma 18mm-200mm which stays on the camera, obviously i'm not a pro but i can't say i've noticed any discernable difference in quality of the images....

Hello again,
Can anyone confirm whether there are two versions of the Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO Macro Super DG Lens, one with the internal motor and one without, as I seem to be finding a wide range of prices on this lens?
Cheers
Tony
