Raw files for 40D??

My raw files on my 40D are'nt being recognised in CS2

my 1D and 20D do, so im wondering what i have to do to get them recognised, im sure i have to download something from Adobe, but some help here would be much appreciated.

Hi Bev,
had the same problem with my new d300. you will need to go to the adobe website and download the latest camera raw updates and paste them into your plug in folder...

It's all explained on the website...

Steve could you give me the precise link for this raw plugin page, as i can only find the one for CS3 and i need CS2 (cant see anything on Adobe site for CS2 now) and it states that the plug in is not suitable for CS2, now im really lost!!!

sorry for not getting back 2 u quicker but have been to focus today,can't help with CS2 i'm affraid i did it for CS3.
But i see steve may have sorted you out...good luck

No worries, just glad for any help with this, hope you had a good time at Focus, would of loved to of gone, but work prevailed!!!!

Steve M... many thanks for link, iv downloaded DNG converter, but its still not working for the 40D, its the newest version of it so it cant be that, it works ok for my 1D so not sure whats going on here, looks like im going to just have to use Picasa or Zoombrowser to open them in, but the software is so limited.

try sending a pm to paul he's helped me out a couple of times he's very knowledgable (doffs cap) he might just have missed this thread (hmmm big brother)...must be worth a shot..

Hi Bev,

The workaround, available free download from Adobe, is to convert your 40D Raws in DNG format. That way CS2's ACR 3.x can process the raws (via DNG) for you.

Otherwise ACR 4.2 is required for direct processing of 40D Raws, and ACR 4.x works only with PS CS3.

Or use canons Dpp which will convert the 40d raw files
