Hi Josie
I have had a FZ50 for just under a year and find it decent camera. We were going on a coaching holiday to Scotland and I didn't fancy carting all the Canon gear with me so took the plunge.I am glad I did.The only problem is the noise (film noise that is) at the higher ISO's but I get around that in part by using a program called Neat Image.
It's the FZ50 I carry most of the time when out walking. All in all its a pretty good camera

Hi Ian, sorry for taking so long to answer, I forgot where I put this and am still finding my way around, thank you for your input, your the only one who did, I am in a quandry, I have rang up a few photographic shops and and most of them have put me off the FZ50, saying its not worth the money, but I've had a look at other camera's and I still come back to it, I have an old Panasonic FZ1, which is cracking up on me and I finally saved up the money for the FZ50. I think I will go ahead, one thing I do agree on with the photographic shops is that it is quite an expensive camera. Thanks again for your help..Josie

One point though. After I bought my FZ50 four of my friends were impessed enough to buy one themselves

Well you've definitely converted me then Ian, more expensive here, I was quoted $729 a month ago, I rang up today and its now $799, buggers, mmm $700 is around 300 pounds, so your price would be under $700, I'm looking on the internet for one, I just feel a bit nervous handing over such a big amount of money over the net. Thanks Ian, I really appreciate your feedback...Josie. Have you tried the "Live Chat" on this forum>> I just went on and no-one is on it, I dn't think many people have worked it out, I spoke to one other person yesterday....

Have been on Live Chat once, with Spooks. Will give it a go again in the next couple of days. My friends and myself all bought from ebuyer. Ebuyer - Cheap Computers, Laptops, Digital Cameras, TVs & more!. Bought loads of stuff from them and no probs. Whoops sorry Josie just checked. They no longer stock it.

Hi Josie, You may possibly want to have a look at the Canon G7 now that the G9 is out. I have a Canon G7 and it produces excellent images with full manual control although it does not do RAW which does not bother me, the only thing that I have againt it is the noise levels above 200 asa.
