Hi All,
I am using the Sony Alpha 200 with the Lens that comes with the Sony Kit(70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G-Series,DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Lens). but I am wondering weather, it's possible to use these lens for the Manual Focus mode. I don't find the focus ring in the lens. I find it difficult to shot in two subjects like someone in the foreground during the sunset... My camera is focusing any one of subject and the other is becoming blur.. ![]() Do I have to go for some other lens, other is there any option I am missing in here. Thanks in Advance.

The focus ring is the one at the far end of the lens mate.

the switch for the manual focus is left of the camera on the body near the lens, switch to manual then as Jason says rotate the forward ring for focussing in manual.

Thanks Buddies,
I tried that before, but as my camera mode was by default in the Auto mode I was not able to turn the focus ring... Now found out how that works ![]() Thanks for waking me up from my sleep

Initially I was using the Auto, then I turned to use the aperture mode...
I had this question earlier, but never asked here ![]() I am using the aperture mode but was facing the autofocus problems, that's why I came out with the question here... anyways thanks for motivating me again...

Just to add my 2c...
I have been using Aperture Priority most of the time, and I am slowly getting into manual focus. I was finding it very difficult to get good manual focus, but if you have a fairly fast lens you might want to have a look at this: Haoda Screen I have recently bought one of these beasts for my Canon 50D and I now find that I can perform manual focus with good accuracy. There have been a number of discussions about the screen affecting AE on the camera but I have not been able to discern any difference. The only downside I have found is that for a lens f/5.6 or slower the split wing is dark in one half, however because auto focus continues to work perfectly I am not loosing anything when working with these lenses. It's early days for me yet in its use, but I am very pleased with the screen. Regards, Steve

If you are taking a photo of the landscape then you need to set your lens to f22 for pin sharp pictures for the full depth front to back. A small f no. will result in a shallow depth of field and the rest of the photo other than what you have focused on will be a blur/out of focus.
