pricing
there are quite a few web sites out their helping with pricing guide lines.... heres one of the ones i first used ...
photography tips | How Much Should You Charge for a Photo Shoot
another one here
Stock Photo Price Calculator
the main thing to remember is not to under value your services! if you do not value yourself no one else will!
when choosing agencies to sell your work... check their prices as a buyer first before yo sell through them! micro stock sites devalue the amount off time and effort you have put into each image.

Thank you Genese for putting this post in. I've struggled with pricing so much, compared other photographers sites for pricing ideas, set my own and then changed them, or give a discount (a no, no...and not needed, but I feel guilty) etc. It's so hard for me to set a price...I'm a bargain hunter!
You are right in setting pricing and remembering your worth.
I'll take a look at the sites you've posted, but just wanted to thank you for your trouble.

when you write on a piece off paper how many hours you spend taking photos.... the editing .... the emailing... price of phone calls to the client! never feel guilty about offering something no else can... you are the only person who can take an image with your eye!!

i have sold a fair few on my site although i tend to use it more as a online portfolio... i sell more through agencies and galleries than i do from my site... when using agency sites bare in mind the more varied photos you have on their sites the more chance you have of selling your images! Never be afraid to ask shops and the tourist board etc if they would be interested in using your work... i also have some of my images sell through the rspca etc .... when setting up on your own its a good idea to have a pen and paper to hand all the time and jot notes down as ideas pop into your head.. and google searches are handy! the best agnecies on the net are photographers direct.. alamy... and many more try and stay away from micro stock sites who pay little for your work they de value photographers.
a good place to start is to work your way through this google search ..
photography agencies - Google Search
bare in mind the bigger agencies will not touch you if you use micro stock sites
