Default Wilton Windmill

Photographers Comments
Spent the day in and around Savernake Forest in Wiltshire (without much inspiration springing out of the trees I'd have to say). A few miles down the road was this lovely working windmill.

Hi Dave, this is a great image, it would have been so easy to include all of the windmill, but just isolating it like you have here has worked really well. As Andy said nice and sharp with good sky as well.

Very good shot Dave I like the crop and the position of the sails against the blue sky balances out your shot very well.

Blimey ..... TVM for all your comments & glad you liked it.

I have several along the same lines and they might make a nice triptych. I went for a bit more abstract composition for this as ....... windmills look great when they are situated in Norfolk by the side of a canal with long reeds in the foreground and the early/late sun shining through a cool mist giving a nice pinkish colour and with some trees, dilapidated barn or a big old boat nearby .... but on a hill in Wiltshire in the midday sun at what is basically a museum/tourist attraction, well, where's the romance in that?
