Has anyone used GraphiStudio before
Hi have a wedding next year and my clients have chosen GrapiStudio as their album supplier. I have got the whole sample pack from them and their prices seem to have come right down this year.
Has anyone any advice on their order process? Things to watch out for etc?
Thanks

Hi paul ,
I use Graphistudio myself , the process is very straight forward.
I have not found any problems with them so far.
I genarate the double page layouts myself , and ftp the files to them.
Fill out the online order form and you get the book back in about 3 weeks
The only thing you need to watch out for is the position of the images. You need to consider the saftey edge and the trimming of the book.

Thanks for the info James. I picked up Yervants Page Gallery a few months ago so I may use that for the design if I do it myself but I think I may use their own design service as it's supposed to be quite good.
Do you do your own designs purely to reduce costs or is there any other reason you don't use the their in house designers?

I also use yervants page gallery v4
There design service is very good , I just wanted to be in full control of the page layouts and not tied to the templates used by graphistudio.

Fair comment mate!
Now I know you use Page Gallery v4 I'm going to have loads of questions for you
Here is the first, image size. When designing the pages, PG4 has options to output to custom width and sizes, I've never got this to work. It's stays with the massive default size that is much much bigger than GraphiStuidos requirements.
Am I missing anything?

Hey Paul
I have used them with a previous studio, the only thing that was tiresome were the clients constantly wanting to change things!!
V good quality product and def is striking as a wedding. I got married myself in january and we are going to have one but haven't quite gotten round to doing it yet...something which my wife reminds me now and again when i'm playing with my landscape images.....
never really had any grumbles, forms very easy. also, once you are listed with them anyone searching their site for a photographer you get notified by email should you wish to contact them..or you used to anyway...
There are a few more companies doing the rounds but they are still the best although they have worked had to make their prices compete better..

paul,
I have not found any problems with the sizing.
As i only use graphistudio, i stick to there standard double page sizes and the sizing is correct.
i have tried the custom sizing and it seems to be correct from what i remember.
i will give it a try to see what happens.
What version are you using 4.?

Yes it's v4.. Take a look at the attached image, the figures there are the default sizes which are for the 40x50 album.
I change the sizes to 42.6 x 29.1 (or nearest as it adjusts the ratio automatically for the 20x30) it then outputs a PS 77MB file with 71.12cm x 49.78 (7000 x 4900) resolution and ignores the 42.6 x 29.1 that I told it I wanted them at.
I have to admit i've really not look at great detail into this.
Is there something i'm doing wrong?

You know something, I've just taken a good look at this.
You tell page gallery you want to work in centimeters and the custom size box tells you you need to enter centimeters but the standard size drop down list is still kept in inches. No wonder it's confusing so the 20x30 needs to be the 7x12 option in the list.
For the cost of this program I'm disappointed they are mixing both centimeters and inches when preferences are set to centimeters. Shame on them!
But at least that now solves the mystery
