Thanks for your comments. I was trying something new here. The dog is hard to get because he is a very red colored but with a very white face. I generally get lots of shadows on his face. Here he was laying on a white fur rug and I had the flash pointed toward the ceiling. The light bounced off the ceiling and seems to have eliminated some of the harsh shadows. This may be a solution to what was a very perplexing problem. Mary
