Jason, I use the Sigma 70-300 with the D70s. Not having had a Nikon I can't compare however I did have a Tameron and I can say the sigma is better. I have no complaints about the sigma lens I do remember reading a review on the net somewhere and the sigma came out okay, Don't know if that helps.
