Hi, nice to see some more IR work on this forum. This is good image if this your first attempt. You have chosen a good subject pond, trees and sky. Water always comes out dark as it does not reflect IR very well at all, which is the same as the blue sky although the clouds can add a lot of impact to a IR image. The foliage on the trees and ground will reflect a lot of IR giving you the white effect. I will usually try to overexpose by about 1 stop, but keep a eye on your histogram so that you don't burn anything out. I noticed that you were using f5.6 , I would have gone for a lowest setting that your lens would allow like f2.8 or f3.5 so that you could use a shorter shutter speed in order to reduce the blur caused by the wind blowing the foliage around. Even maybe left the ISO to 200 but no more otherwise you will be getting a lot of noise.

You must be pleased with this image, as I know I would have been when I started playing with IR, finding a old wall or old building with trees around is also a good IR subject. But remember if you are using a filter then you do need good strong sunlight to bring out the IR otherwise all what you get is flat images - I know because I have been there.
