I use Dynamic-Photo HDR. I find it best to avoid the high contrast option in the tone mapping as it produces that very lurid look. I go for 'eye-catching' or 'smooth compressor'. I think the secret with HDR is to get the tonal ranges from the exposures without the OTT effects that can make a shot look un-natural..
