We were bathing Fred last night, he was really mucky and we have a show on Sunday. There was some matter fur by his back leg that we tried to wash through but it wasnt budging.
I decided to cut out the matted fur instead, unfortunately I also cut through his skin leaving a flap on the back of his leg.
Obviously we rushed him to the vets where they decided to keep him overnight and operate under anesthetic this morning.

Now we have him back, 3 shaved patches, 1 on his back leg where I made the initial cut, 1 on his neck and 1 on his front leg. I have no Idea how many needles have been stuck in the poor fella.

£50 insurance excess, £36.50 lost show entry (not refundable) and £75 out of hours charge may or may not be covered. If we need to cut fur off again I'll be using my hair clippers.
But the worst of it is I feel like a monster, really horrible, the least bothered individual is Fred himself.
