Hi Bec, make sure that you handle a good range of cameras before you buy, as you will find one camera that will fit your hands perfectly and have all the controls in the right place for you, once you have found this camera - then you can shop around for the best price. Although if your local shop is not that much more dearer than on-line I would still go for buying locally as you can always pop in if you get a problem, but saying that DSLR's are very reliable these days.
