Dont go for the D40. it doesnt have a motor for the lens which means you are limited in lenses. means you have to have built in motors (ie Sigmas HSM lenses) esp if you want to do fully auto shooting. LCE also does 2nd hand gear and should come with 3 or 6 mths warranty.
