What caught my eye immediately are a number of things that sets this far away from an ordinary *cat snap* Composition is classically correct and with the subject gazing that way (screen right) the room and empty dark space is excellent. Colouring is my next enjoyment, because the colours & tones are rich, beautifully saturated, but muted in keeping with an almost *old world* charm. My other thought was possibly that the face could maybe be sharper, however I do see the the slight softness enhances and suits the overall feel to this. It reminds me of a dutch painting, and actually I feel would indeed work gorgeously with a textured layer, or a post process effect.
Is excellent Fay. LOVE it!!
