Hi Len,
what wildlife do you want to do?
Birds need the longest lenses, 600mm is very popular for that.
The problem is that once you get past 300mm the price just goes crazy and I still find bird photo's very difficult at 300mm.
I think half of the result comes from patience and getting close though.
