I dont really know too much about Sony, Minolta digital cameras but any Canon or Nikon around £300 would get you some serious kit..these days the technology from the pro cameras filters done very easily to the amateur market and you get lots for your money..

follow these links, whatever you choose, try to find it in a shop and play with it. remember that a camera shop should have employees that have good knowledge whereas currys, argos etc will have good prices but not always expert knowledge. research until you are blue in the face..post any q's on here, we are always happy to help
