Lots of interest here. I think that the waves on the water and seeing how the wind is turning the leaves, adds that extra garnish or sparkle/life to the image. Certainly can't say that the lighting is flat!...lots of pleasing movement of light and dark. Like your vantage point and how you have the bottom framed. Finding the background hills a little underexposed, however, it is broken up by the whiteish line of building sites. If there had more clouds on the right, it would have left the image more balanced, cause the eye tends to go up to that vastness of blue but to compensate the little splashes of crimson, does help to hold the eye down.
