the best filters to start of with are the neutral density grads (NDS ) the polarizing filter (i use the cokin polarizer as it slots into my cokin filter holder and can be used with most of my lenses) it retails around £59.00
if you are shooting in RAW then you can change the scene by changing the white balance during processing!
