Well looks like I've got a few to answer, but lets take Fay first because it answers a similar question that the others quirred.
Fay the bottle sat on black marble, with black velvet for the backdrop.... (the black velvet was something that I learned from my Portaiture.) and I was trying to keep as much light of it in order for it to register a deep black.......and I wasn't very successful either, so had to darken the picture a little at the expense of darkening the bottle as well, so see...... to start with I did that part wrong, or lets just say that I could have done it better another way. I know for next time.
Now the type on the bottle as you so readerly noticed is not very sharp.
This also gave me some trouble, and was the main reason for trying out different things. But I was never happy with it.!!!!!!
Thanks for dropping by Nik.
Yes I see that you have noticed that I don't have a full house when it comes to glasses.
Sorry this was the best that I could do on short notice.
Your suggestion with backlighting sounds worth a try, a little tricky to apply tho, I'll think about it.
Some good ideas from Andy tho,
Thanks I'll work on that, and I'll try and Post some improvements.
And thanks for Posting some samples Tco.
And yes I'm thinking of doing a re-do with the Card idea, or maybe a softbox or a Flash from underneath.
