Use white card to reflect light in behind to keep it soft. The one thing with glass is everything must sooooo clean. reflections on what the items are stood on is great but keep it clean..you're right it isnt easy and you have prob chosen the most difficult!! good luck, dont think i'm capable at all!!! using black card down the sides should keep the lines dark and crisp as well..keep at it and let us see your progress. helps me as well as you!!!
